Rod Stewart Cancels Performance in Australia Due to ‘Viral Infection’: ‘I’m Just Human,’ he says.

“I’m heartbroken,” Stewart told his 1.2 million Instagram followers.

Due to sickness, Rod Stewart postponed a stop on his The Hits tour this weekend.

The Grammy Award winner, 78, announced the news to his 1.2 million Instagram followers, claiming that he had a “viral infection” that affected his throat and singing voice ahead of his appearance at A Day on the Green, an Australian food, wine, and music event.

“Hello, my friends,” he began his statement. “I’m devastated that I’m failing my fans who purchased tickets to A Day On The Green. I was told late this morning that I have a viral illness and that my throat is too inflamed to sing.”
