“The automobile accident in Ireland was, I would say, top three traumas of my life, maybe top one,” the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star, 62, said in an interview. “When you have a near-death experience and watch other people’s deaths, it’s incredibly tough to communicate. It was rather unsettling to be alone on a country road in the middle of nowhere, with no one close or aware. It inspired a slew of additional changes in my life.”
