Barbara Walters, the legendary newswoman, died on Friday, and tributes from important friends, colleagues, and fans poured in.
“The world of journalism has been dealt a blow to its professionalism, courage, and integrity with the passing of a significant character,” Dan Rather, who once hosted the CBS Evening News for many years, wrote. “Barbara Walters was a trailblazer and consummate professional in her area. She outhustled, outworked, and outthought her competitors to win the tournament. She left the world a better place than she found it. Everyone will miss her terribly. RIP”
